Upwards and onwards. Bigger and better.
“Produce Progress” is a notable project, as it is the first public artwork Be Friendly has produced (or anyone in our home city of Adelaide as far as we know) which was conceived of before the building went up.
The ostensibly simple graphics were created by mashing up a collection of architectural details (reliefs, cornices, tiles, ventilation grilles…) from the surrounding heritage buildings and site of the former East End Produce Markets. The monochromatic colour palette matches the finishes throughout the rest of the building and is sympathetic to the heritage surroundings.
