The most delicious project Be Friendly has ever worked on began as a joke with the boys at Burger Theory. We were commenting on completely pointless collaborations – so we decided to do one.
Genius grill man Dan Mendelson invented a limited edition burger for six local artists hand-picked by Be Friendly. The six artists then came up with a burger themed limited edition art print. Besides curating and branding the event, Be Friendly was honoured to produce the first Art Burger: apple ‘slaw, chipotle mayo, cheese and bacon… mmmmm.
The joke serendipitously backfired when Art Burgers turned out to be really, really, really popular – selling out in 20-30 minutes every day, and becoming the elusive goal of every food blogger in town.
